Mayo Civic Center Introduces New Logo

MayoCivicCenterLogo736x490pxMayo Civic Center has adopted a colorful new logo that reflects the vibrancy of the center and its transformation into the Upper Midwest's premier destination for conventions and events. The new logo replaces a previous logo which did not include the location of the center or state the center’s functions.

“We are excited to roll out this new logo, which better describes where we are and what we do,” said Donna Drews, executive director of Mayo Civic Center. “We completed a major expansion last year that doubled our capacity for hosting conventions and events, and marketing this exciting transformation in new and innovative ways will be a key to our success. This new logo directly states our location and purpose, and putting those messages front and center will help potential clients and event-goers understand what we do at first glance.”

The logo was changed as part of a joint re-branding project for which Mayo Civic Center partnered with Experience Rochester MN (previously named the Rochester Convention & Visitors Bureau) and Rochester MN Sports (previously named the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission). The re-branding project included a new overall destination brand for the city (the recently unveiled Minnesota’s Rochester: America’s City of Care and Innovation), as well as new logos with a consistent look and feel for all three participating organizations.

“As our city grows and evolves, telling a consistent story and taking a team approach to selling our city to visitors—including meeting planners, sports event organizers, convention attendees and more--will help us compete,” said Brad Jones, executive direction of Experience Rochester MN. “We think it will be very effective to take a unified approach to promoting our exceptional city.”

Drews said the rollout of the new logo and tagline for Mayo Civic Center will occur gradually in the next few months. The center’s marketing materials and website are in the process of being updated. “It’s wonderful to start the new year with a new logo and a strong message,” Drews said. “We are enthusiastic about the direction we’re taking as a center and a city, and we look forward to welcoming new and returning conventions, events, and visitors to our expanded venues!”
